The first floor has an inviting layout, featuring an open-concept plan with high ceilings. The entry is a separate room with closet perfect for boots and coats. The vestibule protects this spacious cozy home from entry drafts. The entry is separated from the kitchen dining area by a tall historic, furniture quality, soft-close pocket door. The well-appointed kitchen has a quartz surfaced large center island with ample seating. Elegant lighting. A dark walnut high-polished counter pairs with adjoining quartz countertops. The Adams Town lights display below. A half bath is located beneath the stairs. No need for curtains so high up. Carriage house is packed with up-to-code fire proof rock wool insulation for heat retention and sound dampening. Mini-splits provide affordable heat and air conditioning. Full view balusters on the stairs present a stately array of 2" twisted steel rebar that was sanded and powder coated to a smooth finish. The rebars in their original location were 23 feet long buried in 16 tons of cement that were removed from the carriage house first floor. At the turn of the stairs is a second exit to a unique exterior walkway constructed as a high up elongated balcony coursing from back corner to the front driveway. The walkout basement is reserved for the hot water heater and pump.
Upstairs, the spacious primary suite includes two generous walk-in closets and a beautiful ensuite bath. The bedroom features an additional bank of five tall new Marvin windows part of a shed dormer with gorgeous expansive views. There are historic windows on both floors from the original carriage house with rippled glass. The ensuite spacious bath design features stained diagonal beams highlighting the original gable construction. Stained glass interior windows extend bright bath light to the adjoining sleeping area. A generous shower and chair height toilet complement the antique furniture vanity, glass bowl sink with handsome copper faucet.
