City Guide for Pelican Bay, FL

Originally called Clam Bay, the town name was changed to the avian-oriented Pelican Bay in 1974.

Pelican Bay is a small community in Collier County, Florida. With a population of a little more than 5,600 residents, it is located along the shore on the west coast of the Sunshine State, on the Gulf of Mexico. It is considered a part of the Naples-Marco Island metropolitan area. It has a small land area of 3.4 square miles, making it an ideal location to settle down. Pelican Bay was purchased as land in 1972 and targeted for development that would have destroyed much of its natural beauty. Known for its acres of mangrove trees, development proceeded but with a plan to preserve its natural resources, and its mangrove forest was designated a natural resource protection area by the county. What to keep in mind when looking for condos in Pelican Bay, FL

Finding condos for rent in Pelican Bay is almost no different than renting an apartment in a big complex. The real difference is the ownership. Condos are owned by individuals within the same building. However, apartments in a large complex are owned by a single landlord or property management group.

Sometimes the price of condos in Pelican Bay may prove cheaper. The owners are often moving onto a new home or leaving the city and just need someone to cover the costs. Apartment complexes are designed to deal with tenant issues, make repairs, and care for the property. Condo owners will still deal with repairs and upkeep but may need more time to address a problem, especially if they don’t live nearby. However, condo owners have a more vested interest in the property and keeping their tenants happy to reduce turnover.

Choose the best condos for rent in Pelican Bay that meet your wishlist for budget, amenities, and layout. You probably won’t notice the difference between the condos and apartments you tour.
