Grover Beach was originally known as the Town of Grover, founded in 1887. The name underwent a number of changes from The City of Grover to The City of Grover City - a bit redundant - and then became Grover Beach. The surfers finally won that debate! According to the 2010 US census, the population is 13,156. Miles of untamed and unpolluted beaches and the home of the famous Monarch Butterfly Preserve between Grover Beach and Pismo Beach. Endless sun, sea and sand along this coastline of Grover Beach, California. The mild Mediterranean climate with temperatures ranging from 17C to 23 C between April and September makes this a favorite stopover for Spring break and annual holidays. However, please note that this is a winter rainfall area. Year-round activities include hiking on the dunes, fishing and clamming; golfing, horseback riding, wine tasting and off-road dune-bashing.
