Moving to Brevard
If you're planning to find luxury apartments in Brevard, the best time to look is when spring is in full bloom and after all of the snowbirds fly back north for the summer. April is a prime month to find an apartment complex to call home. Because of Western North Carolina's mild climate, many retirees choose to live in Brevard for part of the year, turning their homes into rental condos or apartments for the summer.
Sub-letters and landlords generally require the first and last months' rent upfront, and some will also ask for a security deposit. Life in Brevard
Brevard has the fortunate position of being in the middle of three vast parklands. DuPont State Recreational Forest, Pisgah National Forest and Gorges State Park all have hiking and biking trails for both novice and more adventurous trail seekers. Mount Pisgah has an elevation of 5,722 feet, and the view of the mountains from the top is spectacular. Several of the county's waterfalls are within the bounds of the town, too. Most are accessible via a short hike.
Downtown Brevard also has plenty to offer. Summertime sees the arrival of several festivals. For old-time charm, visit Rocky's Soda Shop, or see first-run movies at Co-Ed Cinema, which has its original 1934 faade, complete with ticket booth and marquee.
The Brevard Music Center offers music education and performances in the summer. The Brevard extension of Blue Ridge Community College offers continuing education classes, including beer brewing classes in conjunction with nearby Oskar Blues brewery.
