This town is not just a ski capital. It's also home to over 400 miles of wooded trails for biking and hiking!
If you're looking for an apartment for rent in Park City, you're probably an avid skier or thinking about becoming one. This area is known for having some of the best slopes in the country - maybe even the world. It's one of the most beautiful places you'll find in the US, too, with snow-capped mountains, charming, European-feeling villages and world-class shopping and dining. No wonder it draws in celebrities from all over the world to vacation here. The population drastically changes between summer and winter so you will find yourself with a lot more space to stretch out during the warmer months and more packed in during winter when the snow bunnies flock to the slopes.
Finding one- or two-bedroom apartments for rent here is a cinch, whether you're looking for a condo for rent, an all-bills-paid apartment or something in between. The trick is to look in the summertime when nearly 65 percent of properties are vacant. This doesn't mean they will all be for rent -- a lot of people own homes that they only occupy for short times during the winter, but you'll still stand a better chance of finding a property. There will also be a lot of short-term rentals available so you can opt for one of these, too, before you commit to something more permanent.
What You'll Need:
If you're planning to move to Park City, you should think about what type of place you're interested in. One option is to rent one of the many furnished, short-term rentals while you look for something more stable. If that doesn't appeal to you, then you'll have a smaller selection of long-term apartments available and it will probably take you a little longer to zone in on exactly the right one. When you head to your appointments, be sure to bring along a copy of your ID, credit report, bank statements, pay stubs, a letter of employment, references and your rental application. That way, if you like an apartment, you can get the application process started right there on the spot. Bring your checkbook too, so you can write that check immediately!
Park Slope has a number of different, small neighborhoods, mostly defined by which ski area you live closest to. Here's a little more info about each of them.
Deer Valley: This is one of the best and most popular ski areas and also is exciting during the summertime when there are outdoor concerts, outdoor dining at the Royal Street Caf̩ and plenty of entertainment. There are a number of small apartment complexes at the base of the mountain that make for easy walking distance around town.
North Park City: This is where many year-round residents prefer to live. It's not as close to the slopes but that means it's less touristy and there are beautiful apartments and gigantic mansions on these little, windy streets.
Park City Mountain: This area boasts the famous Crescent Burger, which the locals love. It's a great balance between getting away to the outskirts of town and living right in the thick of Deer Valley tourism.
Life here is summed up by all the outdoor activities you can partake in. It's not a place that people who turn their noses up at the great outdoors will typically head to, so get ready to embrace nature. After a long hike or a day at the slopes you can enjoy a meal at the popular Legends Bar & Grill. Most of the work in town revolves around tourism and outdoor activities, unless you're commuting to nearby Salt Lake City for work. The town is super walkable if you're living near one of the resorts and there is a public transit system that can get you around with ease, as well. If you have a car, you can easily hop on I-80 to get to Salt Lake City or the airport for easy travel.
