Lovely little Pollock Pines, California sits between Sacramento to the west and the El Dorado National Forest to the east. It's nestled in the Sierra Nevada foothills with a population of just under 7,000, at the time of the 2010 U.S. Census. Part of the aptly named El Dorado County, Pollock Pines is in historic gold country, where just a few miles west, James Marshall accidentally and fortunately discovered gold.
