Nervous about the big move to this little-known Arkansas city? Do you find yourself worrisome, wondering what the heck is Searcy like?! Well, then you've found the perfect city guide to get you into the swing of things, so read on my friends, and you're worries will just wash away.
Searcy offers a simple, wholesome life. It's got small-town charm, Christian values, a strong, family-oriented community spirit, and one of the prettiest courthouses in the state. Harding University is located here, however, it's certainly not your typical college scene full of boozing frat boys and hippie tree-huggers. Not only is there a lack of trees around town, but the typical college-kid recreations such as beer, liquor, and pot are all illegal in Searcy, which probably makes it the most family-friendly college town you can find. In fact, it's safe to say that the mosquitoes are more of a threat than the local college students.
As far as rental properties go, there are plenty of different options. Whether you want a cheap apartment or a spacious country home, you’re sure to find exactly what you're looking for. Rental rates typically range from $500 to $700, though you can find some super-nice houses for rent for over $1,000 every once in a while. Most rental homes can be found for $700 or less, so whether you're a student or a family of four, this pleasantly peaceful city has everything to meet your needs.
If you're one of those people who needs a swimming pool during those 100+ degree days, then apartment life is the way to go. Many apartment communities come with convenient, fun, and relaxing amenities such as swimming pools, clubhouses, playgrounds, basketball courts, work-out rooms, and laundry facilities.
Whether you're a cat-person or a dog-person, there are plenty of places to find a pet friendly home in Searcy. If you're bringing along your furry friends, then look for smaller apartment buildings and rental homes. These types of rentals are the most likely places to find pet friendly landlords, especially dog friendly landlords.
So, that's the Searcy way of life these days. Best of luck on the home hunt!
