City Guide
Tallmadge
Moving to Tallmadge

Moving to Tallmadge will cost you slightly more than the average property in Ohio, but for safety, quiet and peace of mind, you might not mind paying a bit more. You can find all kinds of rental apartments here, whether you're looking for studio apartments, one-bedroom apartments for rent or** f**ull rental homes. You should be in good shape no matter what time of year you're looking. For rental properties, though, summer usually means there will be more places available. Give it a little extra time -- usually four to six weeks is a good range to bank on for finding the right spot.

What You'll Need

When you're starting your search to find an apartment, do yourself a favor and have all your paperwork ready to go before you set out to meet your new prospective landlords. They don't want to have to nag you for your credit history, bank statements, references, letter of employment, etc., and if you don't have it all pulled together beforehand, you might miss out on a great place. Possibly the most important thing to remember, however, is your checkbook. Nothing shows that you're serious about a place quite like slapping down a deposit on it right then and there.

Neighborhoods

Because Tallmadge is a small city, it has the same overall vibe all across town. The town center is the cross-section of eight main roads that spiderweb in every direction. Some of the different areas of Tallmadge include:

South Avenue: This is the area near Goodyear Heights Metro Park, a beautiful community recreation area. It also takes you down south to the Akron Airport, which many residents find convenient.

Southwest Avenue: Living off Southwest Avenue is super convenient for people who commute into downtown Akron. There are a lot of stand-alone houses and rental units available.

East Avenue: This part of the city is the most peaceful, being furthest away from Akron and city life. It has a lot of subdivisions with bigger houses and even bigger lawns.

North Ave.: North Avenue heads up into Munroe Falls and the beautiful Munroe Falls Metro Park, where you can find outdoor activities like fishing, hiking and biking.
