Claremont was where the 2006 film Live Free or Die was filmed. Written by a couple of the guys who wrote Seinfeld, and starring Zooey Deschanel and Aaron Stanford, the film follows the life of a criminal in the fictional town of Rutland, New Hampshire, as he tries to make it to the big time.
