"Thank you, thank you very much." Get used to hearing this drawl if you come to Tupelo, the birthplace of Elvis Presley. Elvis impersonators are abundant if you're looking to meet the King.
Tupelo locals take pride in the Elvis history here, and you'll find many museums dedicated to the king of rock and roll. It's time to break in your blue suede shoes. But that's not to say it's stuck in the past: as the county seat and largest city of Lee County, Mississippi, Tupelo is home to about 35,000 people. Located about equidistant from the buzzing urban hubs of Memphis and Birmingham, it's got southern charm and historic roots, with big-city culture nearby if you need it.
Tupelo has cleaned up many of its neighborhoods, and there are plenty of charming choices
