City Guide for Winfield, IL

Although the town wasn't incorporated until 1921, its history dates back to the 1830s, when it was dubbed Gary's Mill after an early pioneer. (The name still exists in a two mile stretch of road.) In 1873, the town assumed its current designation from Winfield Scott, a U.S. Army general and Whig Party candidate for president in 1852.

It's only a slight exaggeration to say that finding parking in Chicago takes longer than taking the train from Winfield. That's why many commuters make their home in this incorporated village. If you want to join their ranks, expect a respite from crowds, noise and graffiti. You won't even have to leave the hamlet for after-work amusement if you like the natural fun of forest preserves and waterways. View Winfield City Guide

What to keep in mind when looking for studio apartments in Winfield, IL

Studio apartments could offer the best of Winfield living at a less expensive price tag than larger units. Look for the best buildings near entertainment, dining, and public transportation or highway access.

Ask about the square footage of studio apartments in Winfield during your tour. Even a little extra space in another building can offer more room for storage or an additional chair. Consider the layout and what you can accomplish before you sign. You should have enough room for your bed, a small sitting area, and a dining table. You can always get creative and loft your bed to save on space underneath or install a fold-down table or desk that tucks away.
