Moving to Flowing Wells, AZ

Do you crave community involvement? Flowing Wells is an action-oriented community, dedicated to revitalizing the area. Ellie Towne is a well-known community leader, who created a community wide collaboration effort to keep the neighborhood safe and clean. In 2002, this effort resulted in the removal of more than 216 tons of garbage. Because of community-wide togetherness, Flowing Wells is cleaner, as well as the partnerships between nonprofits, local agencies and federal agencies have resulted in millions of dollars in local improvements and renovations, including a 20,000 square foot community center, a health center for the uninsured, and a myriad of local sporting locations, such as basketball and volleyball courts. These changes have made Flowing Wells a desirable location, which is why many choose to move here. Fortunately, Flowing Wells has a 15.2% vacancy rate, so finding a place here shouldn't prove too difficult. Additionally, housing here is significantly less expensive when compared to the rest of Arizona and the country as a whole.

Flowing Wells is considered northern Tucson, AZ and therefore does not have designated neighborhoods. In truth, Flowing Wells can be considered a neighborhood itself -- a neighborhood in Tucson, AZ. Still, Flowing Wells does have some specific areas of interest. Here are some of the best areas in Flowing Wells:

West Ruthrauff Road: Home to numerous retail establishments and a variety of nightclubs and bars, the area around West Ruthrauff Road is perfect for the busy-body looking to run their errands nearer to home. Like most of Flowing Wells, this neighborhood is comprised of small single-family homes and two and three bedroom mobile homes.

Curtis Park: Curtis Park is a great example of how community involvement can truly change a place for the better. What was once a dangerous locale is now a beautiful park complete with walking trails and other wholesome destinations. Homes in this area are affordable, as well as there are a number of vacant apartments for rent.

W River Road: If you prefer water front property, you're going to find it along W River Road. This area of Flowing Wells features the flowing Rillito River. Because of its proximity to the water, homes in this area tend to cost more than other Flowing Wells properties.
