Strictly speaking, Upper Saddle River is really just one neighborhood unto itself, but for the sake of better exploring the city, we'll divide it up into two parts as if the river were a border between two halves.

East: The eastern section houses the public schools and the Apple Ridge Golf Course. Highway 17 runs through the far edge, along which many business and eateries have clustered. The array of residential spaces are equal with those on the westside of town, as are home values, for the most part. Several tributaries run into the central river from this side of town. Fast-food joints and fine dining restaurants are as nearby as the Garden State Parkway, and Andy's Fishery supplies fresh seafood.

West: This side of Upper Saddle River is comprised of small and larger businesses that are huddled close to the upper branches of the river, as well as residential areas that spread out to the south end of the the city. There are fewer basic amenities to the East, as it does not touch a major roadway. Here you'll find fun venues like the Gravity Vault Indoor Rock Gym and the Apple Ridge Golf Course. You're also nearer to grocery centers like Schreiber Foods International and the Food Institute.

Dining Out
