City Guide
Dardenne Prairie
Moving to the Prairie

Dardenne Prairie has experienced quite a lot of construction in recent years, attracting a robust crop of newcomers to the community. Of course, this means that you can find quality apartments or housing to rent in Dardenne Prairie. Look around in some of the town's fine neighborhoods for property rentals, and you won't be disappointed.

Little Houses on the Prairie

If you're interested in places to rent that are relatively new, look no further than theBent Oak Court / Bent Oak Drive neighborhood. Most of the buildings here were constructed after the year 2000, and you're sure to find a nice 1 or 2-bedroom apartment for rent.

TheRoute K / Waterford Crossing Drive neighborhood has medium-sized to large houses and townhouses, so if you're interested in renting something a little bigger with more privacy than an apartment, take a peek through this area.

If you don't mind having only a little space to shrug your shoulders, you could try looking for housing to rent in the City Center area of town. Though this neighborhood is classified as urban due to its large population, you won't find apartments here. Instead, you can look forward to finding a house to rent that may not be new, but certainly isn't old.

Prairie Life

Due to the quality schools, newer construction and proximity to the greater St. Louis area, Dardenne Prairie is growing rapidly. If you want to move to this community, make sure your paperwork (including credit checks and security deposits) is in order. Pedestrians, prepare to put those athletic shoes away for a sunny day in the park: Dardenne Prairie is no walker's paradise. The good news is that you won't have a long commute to work. Dardenne Prairie residents enjoy one of the shortest commute times in the nation, traveling less than 30 minutes and in some cases, 15. If you don't want to drive, you might be able to convince one of your friendly new neighbors to start a carpool.

If you're ready to get out and experience some good times in your new town, check out the city's parks. If you go to Georgetown Park, be sure to look at the memorial erected in the memory of Civil War veterans. If you'd rather go look at the lake, Barathaven Park has one, as well as sports fields and a walking trail. Don't miss many of the seasonal events that happen at the Dardenne Prairie City Hall Park. This park hosts musical events, a splash park in the summer and concessions if you're hungry.

If you've exhausted all your options for a weekend of fun in Dardenne Prairie, skip on down the road to St. Louis for the afternoon. Busch Stadium, home of the champion Cardinals, is sure to please with sports excitement and fabulous views of the downtown St. Louis skyline. You could enjoy a tour of the nearby Budweiser brewery when you're finished watching the game, or see one of the many other historic sites and museums St. Louis has to offer. When you're tuckered out, head back up the road to your peaceful Dardenne Prairie abode.
