Willowdale: Suburban in density, single family homes, townhomes, and duplexes are the most extensive type of housing here. Great for commuters, this area is conveniently close to I-295.
This community is home to the Garden State Discovery Museum, where arts and crafts and plenty of hands-on exhibits live, and many live performances can be taken in at your leisure.
For shopping fun, check out nearby Cherry Hill Mall, which has nationwide chain stores and local boutiques. The mall is renowned as one of the earliest enclosed malls, and is still a thriving entertainment and shopping destination. A more recent addition is Garden State Park; now an open-air, modern shopping and dining community, it was once a race track. Now people, not equines, stroll the area.
With many parks and much green space, Springdale offers plenty of activities outdoors for all ages. There are basketball and tennis courts, softball, baseball, and soccer fields. You'll also find many pleasant walking paths. Nearby is Croft Farm, once a working farm and mill built in 1753. Today the structure is still in good use as an historic landmark and an arts center, where a plethora of art classes, musical concerts, and seminars and discussions are held.
Feel like taking a swing at things? There are two country clubs in the area, including Merchantville Country Club.
Getting around town is a breeze with easy highway access via I-295, which has three exit locations in and around the community. The New Jersey Turnpike is also close by. While having a car isn't an absolute necessity, as public transportation is available, private auto is still the predominate form of transportation in the community. Commute times are under 30 minutes each way, making the work day a little easier to navigate than in some communities.
