Real estate in the area has never been priced any better than it is right now. Moving to Galliano
The vast majority of homes located in this area are privately owned and few are available for temporary rental agreements. Galliano Bayou Lafourche is located within Lafourche Parish, Louisiana, in the United States. You will not find apartment complexes in this remote area. As of the 2010 Census, the population was about 7,676. It is close to several main waterways, which is a draw for purchasing there. The uptick is there is a wide array of properties for sale, which are offered at a surprisingly reasonable price point making it a good time to consider investment properties.
As you explore the real estate market, you may not find apartments, condos, or townhomes; but the selection of single family homes provides for room to spread out with all the luxuries you prefer. The fishing cannot be beat and all the ingredients for an authentic Cajun gumbo are just steps away. Cajun gumbo is comprised of a well-seasoned base with onions, celery, and fresh herbs. A generous serving of rice is served by the side. A favorite pastime in this area is fishing and sharing gumbo with friends and family.
Neighborhoods in Galliano
No matter what area of the parish you chose to live in, you will only be a short drive to any of the amenities you could need, and still have the feel of a small town neighborhood.
Westside: The properties that are located on the Westside are closer to the Wildlife Refuge at Pointe Aux Chenes. The homes here are older, mainly made up of homes from the 1940s to 1970s.
Eastside: The properties that are located on the Eastside are closer to the airport, which makes it an easy commute both in and out of town. This does mean that residents in the Eastside have to put up with the sound of planes flying above.
Southside: The properties located on the Southside are just a short trip to both Laurier Bayou and Catfish Lake. This is a great place to live if you love going on vacation, if you're big into fishing this may be the perfect area for you.
Main Street: Finally, on Main Street, you will find the local banks, restaurants, and schools. The close proximity to stores and schools can really cut down on commute times.

Waterways Like No Other
Louisiana is so very unique in that there is an abundance of varying waterways within the state. The long stretching savannas, forests and swamps provide an abundance of wildlife that the locals harvest for personal and business use.
Natural Wildlife
The local wildlife includes the famous alligators, which are harvested to prevent overpopulating the area that would make for a more dangerous environment. The alligator meat is a local delicacy and is often served in the traditional gumbo along with shrimp, chicken, duck, or sausage.
Dangers That Lurk Beneath
It is prudent to appreciate that there are also nuisance alligator's that may be seen in some areas. However, trained professionals can be contacted for a safe and speedy removal when needed. Snakes can also be problematic with some being venomous. The same resources exist for snake removal as well and can be accessed when appropriate.
Louisiana is an amazing place to live or to visit for a vacation. The culture is pure and weaved within each and every fiber of the colorful culture. The landscape and the sense of adventure bring tourists in by the droves. The local cuisine is a great example of the complexity of its history.
