"At last the mighty task is done; resplendent in the western sun ; I am the thing that men denied, the right to be the urge to live; and I am that which men defied ;" are a few potent poetic words of Joseph P. Strauss, written upon completion of the Golden Gate Bridge. And much like this iconic Bridge, Golden Gate of Florida started with a very ambitious idea--to create the world's largest land subdivision, using 80 square miles of converted/reclaimed land--and he (the developer) did it!
If you like a little bit of country, you'll take great delight in "Golden Gate Estates," the parlance used to describe this "land of wood and water." It sums up a way of life, of living in a spacious (dream) home surrounded by farm land, fertile enough to plant crops and even maintain livestock, in a cool (not humid) climate. Many people like this kind of tropical "country"--approximately 23,961 of them, from the last census count. At Golden Gate Estates, you may even hear 'the call of the wild' on occasions, depending on how far east of town you choose to live. There are small homes, there are very large beautiful homes, and then there are magnificent mansions. There is definitely something here for everyone. Yes, Golden Gate Estates represent a good quality of life for most who choose to move to this neck of the woods!
If you are looking for pet friendly apartments in Golden Gate Estates (GGE) you will certainly find them

Moving to Golden Gate Estates
If you are looking for pet friendly apartments in Golden Gate Estates (GGE) you will certainly find them. This is one part of town where every fowl, goat and pig are welcomed. Golden Gate Estates is, after all, legally an agricultural zoning area. The cost of living in this Naples-Marco Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) is surprisingly low compared to the rest of the state. Utility services are relatively cheap, and finding an all bills paid rental apt is not that big of a challenge! Adjusting to water supplied from a well, however, might be.
Guide to a Successful Move
GGE adopts much of its property laws and governing legislature from Naples, the principal city of the Naples-Marco MSA. But even today, codes that bind residents of GGE are still being worked out. This is why residents may house livestock of all kinds on their lots. There is also no home owners association (HOA) governing the area, and therefore no home maintenance regulations or fees. You will, however have wireless connections, Direct TV and other convenient services at your disposal. Doing your due diligence before relocating is a must to ensure that your transition goes as smoothly as is possible here.
Documents You May Need
If you are not a Floridian, you may want to seek information on how to acquire your Florida's Drivers License. Florida law requires you to obtain your license within 30 days of establishing residence. Also, round up essential documents to have ready for presentation on demand. Documents may include: certified proof of birth, credit card report, social security card, character references, lease agreement and voters registration.
Individual Neighborhoods
Golden Gate Estates, or GGE, is a vast area, about one hour's drive to Naples. As a GGE resident you will use a Naples mailing address. Generally, homes on the western edges of the community are close to everything. The further west your property is--the more valuable it is. The further east your property is (or remote)--the less valuable it tends to be. The populous neighborhoods of GGE are: Wilson Boulevard, Randall Boulevard, Everglades Boulevard and Desoto Boulevard. Single family homes, 3 bedroom apartments, rental homes and new constructions can all be found in this community.
Golden Gate Boulevard: Golden Gate Boulevard is filled with more lush vegetation than the average boulevard. Homes range from medium-sized to grandiose. A strip mall with a grocery store, Walgreens, food court and few retail shops are within a few minutes' drive. There are a number of elementary schools in the area as well as a school bus route.
Wilson Boulevard: Wilson is a less wooded area than the more southern parts of the neighborhood. Most are newer homes on large narrow lots. A shopping plaza with a supermarket and several retail shops are close by.
Randall Boulevard: Randall Boulevard has a range of home designs, some older and newer. There are a few distressed (foreclosure) properties on the block with terrific sales prices. One bedroom apartments may be possible to locate in this community.
Everglades Boulevard: Everglades Boulevard has large estate lots available from which to build your dream home. Finding a large apartment, house or new construction here is possible.
Desoto Boulevard: Desoto Boulevard is a more rural region with no curbs, sidewalks or streetlights. There may be a few miles drive to the gas station and convenience shops. There may also be more vacant lots for sale and rentals homes here than the rest of the neighborhoods.
Getting to Know the Estates
Golden Gate Estates is the ideal place for nature and animal lovers. Residents enjoy the tropical ambiance of their expansive property and only venture away from home when necessary. Since most homes have at least one acre of land (most 2.5 acres) there is quite a lot that can be done recreationally on the property. Many languish outdoors in the cool air and delight in the wilderness of their home. Children are transported by school buses, picked up at pre-arranged locations. Overall it is a comfortable life, with few restrictions, here at Golden Gate Estates.
