A trading post was built in 1840 on the Adobe Creek starting what would become the town of Lupton. The trading post was built by Lieutenant Lancaster Lupton and, you guessed it, the city was later named after him.
To many Fort Lupton, Colorado doesn't seem like much. It is only four square miles and a measly one percent of that is water.
