Atherton has always been a must-see stop along the way to sunny San Francisco, even before it was the glorious town we know today. In 1866, when Atherton was known as Fair Oaks, it was a crucial stop along the Southern Pacific Railroad line connecting San Francisco with San Jose. In 1923, the town was officially incorporated as Atherton, named after a Massachusetts business man.

Lindennwood: Just a 5-10 minute drive from the beautiful San Francisco Bay, Lindennwood is convenient for commuters who need access to Routes 101 and 84. For those who don't wish to drive, Caltrain public transit lines are just a short walk out of the neighborhood.
