This is north Texas, which is climatically different than other parts of the state. Here the region is considered to be mild and semi-arid. What does that mean exactly? It means that the fall, winter and spring tend to be incredibly comfy during the day, usually around the mid 50s, but at night the temperature always drops dramatically. The fall and spring will experience dips into the 30s at night, with even colder temperatures at night during the winter, sometimes as low as mid-20s to teens. The summer months are intensely hot during the day, easily climbing past the 100 degree mark. However, you will still dip into the 60s at night, so relief is usually around the corner!

Spade: The Spade neighborhood is located on the northern side of Waylon Jennings Blvd., which divides the north and south portions of town. This sweet little neighborhood is also considered suburban because of population density, which really isn't all that dense. However, that is just the pocket that is closest to the center of town. As with the City Center neighborhood, this area expands out to include the agricultural and more rural areas that surround the town as well. So if you want that rural feeling without losing any of the conveniences of the city, house rentals in this neighborhood are just what you want. You will run into many of your neighbors at Laguna Park or Dubner Community Park, both located within the Spade neighborhood. These are favored places for an afternoon picnic, a brisk walk in the evening, or a sporting game of fastball on the weekends.

The Littlefield Arts and Heritage Group is an integral part of the community, and is always looking for volunteers or residents who would like to become more involved in the community. This group hosts festivals year-round that attract people from neighboring towns as well as other countries. The most popular festivals include a free Waylon Jennings concert, a Native American Pow Wow, a Bluegrass Festival, a Christmas Bazaar and a huge Fourth of July celebration.
