Shell Ridge: This neighborhood is considered rural by population standards, but don't let that fool you, this is one of the coolest spots to be along the Gulf Coast. Thick with Live Oaks, the wind blows onshore with such predictability that the trees have literally been shaped by it! Each grove grows in the same direction, leaves and branches bent around to one side, perpetually growing with the wind.
Country Acres Colonia / The Falman Colonia: A suburban neighborhood located just a minute off of Hwy 35, this popular area surrounds the Coastal Bend Hospital and the Care Regional Medical Center. It is pedestrian friendly if you are just going to stay in the area, but beyond a quick walk or jog for pleasure and exercise, everyone drives their own cars to and from work. The typical home size ranges from adorable studios to large three- and four-bedroom homes.
Aransas Pass is known for its world class fishing, kayaking, kite boarding and seafood! Everyone finds the area irresistible for its laid-back vibe. The city fills with tourists throughout the year due to the Annual Shrimporee (a festival held every June), as well as Spring Break (most of March, some of April) and snowbirds (also referred to as Winter-Texans) that come south to escape the cold northern winters!
