Outside of the major cities, Ohio is more of a jump in the lake/river mentality, and the river is near-by, so live like the natives and go enjoy nature.
As far as pets are concerned, the attitudes are about 50/50; every landlord is going to have their own point of view regarding individual dogs/cats/breeds/sizes. However, most will have a pet friendly attitude, with plenty of options for cat and dog friendly apartments and other rental properties.
