Festivals You can't have a college town without lots of festivals and community events. You like community events, right? East Lansing hosts over 50 festivals annually. Some of these include the Summer Concert Series, the Crystal Awards, the East Lansing Art Festival, Mid-Winter Singing Festival and the Moonlight Film Festival, to name a few. Education East Lansing Public Schools (ELPS) serve approximately 3,400 students. There are eight schools in the ELPS district. All of them are nationally recognized as excellent schools, but the crowning achievement for these schools goes to East Lansing High School (ELHS). ELHS was awarded a Silver Medal by the U.S. News and World Report for its outstanding academic achievements. This places ELHS among the top 3% of high schools in the nation.

The bottom line is that there are not enough positive things to be said about East Lansing.
