Gather up your friends and enjoy the fresh-water community of Shaker Heights, located in Cuyahoga County in Ohio. An eastern suburb of Cleveland, with several artificial lakes within its borders, and not far from Cuyahoga River. Shaker Heights has more of an urban feel than some of the suburbs on farther outskirts, with its several stately old buildings and well-maintained early-1900s architecture.
Whether you’re looking for Shaker Heights rental housing in an apartment complex or a flat or duplex, you have plenty of options here.
You’ll want to make sure you have good qualifications in place when you’re looking for an apartment to rent. Most landlords and property management companies will want you to have a stable job history and good previous rental references. Make sure your credit report looks good, too.
That 1990s sitcom, “The Drew Carey Show,” famously proclaimed that Cleveland rocks. And a lot of the locals know that to be true. Shaker Heights puts you close to all the action in Cleveland, including the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Rock on, dude! Shaker Heights is close enough to the city center of Cleveland that you don’t feel too far away, but you’re outside the city's limits.
Shaker Heights also has a much higher percentage of residents who use public transportation than the national average, or even the state average. You may choose to get around town without a car if you use a little extra planning. Who doesn’t want to spend less time in the car every day?
