Borough Center: With only three neighborhoods in Lansdowne, it might make more geographical sense to refer to this area as Borough South, but no one asked us. Lansdowne could easily be described as progressive in its use of public transportation, its walkability and green factors such as the existence of a weekly Farmers' Market during growing seasons. In today's world, it could be deemed progressive simply because it has yet to sign up for a reality show expose of its residents. It is recognized as one of the Classic Towns of Pennsylvania but remains very down to earth, even with such a fancy title so long as you remember how to spell its name correctly. A true sign of an outsider is one who spells the borough Landsdowne, which thoroughly annoys the locals who find superfluous "d's" most distressing.

Getting Around Lansdowne

Lansdowne offers so many options for getting around. The borough itself is frequently noted for its walkability while bus lines and rail lines provide opportunities to get out and about in the nearby big cities. Cars are not really a necessity, but many residents still opt for them. Cyclists also find it easy to get around in this bike-friendly borough, as they maintain the calf muscles we all covet.
