City Guide
Manorville
Moving to Manorville

If you are planning to move to Manorville, you should know that while the average real estate prices in the hamlet are about double the average prices in the U.S., they're much lower than what you would find in nearby hamlets and towns, specifically in the Hamptons. Rental apartments range from those that you might find in a multi-family home to condos, and tend to be in high demand. The best thing that you can do before you begin your apartment search in Manorville is to check that your references are ready, that your credit report is clean and that you have adequate funds to put down a deposit if you find the home of your dreams. You can find an apartment using online resources, or you could find a real estate broker if you are looking for something specific, such as townhouses for rent or pet-friendly apartments.

Neighborhoods in Manorville

Although much of the hamlet is wooded, Manorville is made up of two residential neighborhoods. The section of town north of the Captain Daniel Roe Highway is mostly wooded, but you can find an apartment or house for rent in the other two areas.

South Manor: South Manor is the southwest corner of Manorville. Manorville is quite safe, and you can feel fine about wandering around. You will probably need a car to get to most of your errands, though. Grab a slice of New York pie at Jaymie's Pizza or unwind after work at Tavern Tiki Joe's.

Town Center: The Town Center includes the west and north sections of the village. For the most part, you'll need a vehicle here. Living in the Town Center means that you'll be close to the Otis Bike Preserve, where you can go hunting, fishing, hiking and biking (and work off some of that pizza that you ate in South Manor). The Town Center also boasts a low crime rate, so you will feel safe and secure.

Living in Manorville

There are two main attractions in the hamlet of Manorville. The first is the shrine of Our Lady of the Island. This shrine is situated on over 70 acres of carefully landscaped property, and draws many tourists each year.

The other is the Long Island Game Farm. Here, you can see different types of animals and enjoy lunch purchased at the farm, or you can carry your own in. Two tips: Manorville residents get a discount, and you may want to bring some bug repellent during the warmer months. Horseflies and mosquitoes congregate where animals roam, and the animals definitely roam here!

Living in Manorville means that you're in the center of Long Island, which is the most populated island in the continental United States. The hamlet itself is landlocked, but you're just a stone's throw from Long Island Sound and the Atlantic Ocean, so if you're not quite a landlubber, you'll find plenty to do.

If you want to head over to the Hamptons, you'll be able to enjoy white sandy beaches, including Cooper's Beach and Main Beach. If you're not quite ready for swimsuit season, go camping at Hither Hills State Park or check out the Long Island Aquarium.

Love golfing? The Montauk Downs State Park Golf Course is calling your name! There's also the Parrish Art Museum and South Fork Natural History Museum. You certainly won't be bored if you're living in this convenient location!

If you are looking for a quiet community in the center of Long Island, then Manorville might be just the place for you to call home. With enough residents to keep you socialized, yet not so many that you feel like you're in a big city, Manorville can offer a high quality of living for a reasonable price -- by New York standards, anyway!
