Sun Valley, Nevada has a population of 19,299 according to the 2010 U.S. Census. It's a northern suburb of Reno nestled up against the western border edge of California. It's a quiet and convenient little town, and the folks here prefer it to the bustle of Reno. It's also an easy drive to the nearby airport, and you can coast right into California on I-395 anytime you like!

Moving to Sun Valley

First things first: Sun Valley is located in the desert. This means that the days will be hot and the nights will be cold. A lot of people think that's great. But if you like balmy afternoons and equally balmy evenings, you're probably better off looking for rental houses in sunny California rather than here. However, if you have a penchant for cowboy hats and old westerns, and like the aesthetics and feel of desert life, come on down to Sun Valley! What You'll Need

A cowboy hat, for starters. How else will you keep your head cool in the thick summer heat? Neighborhoods

While there aren't a lot of distinct neighborhoods in Sun Valley, there are several quaint communities to choose from to establish your residence here. Stop on by and find one that suits your every need and desire.

Red Hill: Red Hill is one of the city's little natural parks and living near here means you'll get an oasis of green amid the dry, desert landscape.

Sun Valley Community Park: This little area is convenient because it's right in the center of town and also off the city's two main thoroughfares, W. 7th Avenue and Sun Valley Boulevard.

North Side: The North Side of town has a lovely, peaceful feel that comes from being tucked into the base of the mountains. You'll also be just a stone's throw from the airport, for when you've had enough of the heat.

Here's what you can expect from different parts of Sun Valley: fun and excitement. Living in Sun Valley gives you the best of everything. You're close to Reno, the "Biggest Little City in the World," and all of its entertainment amenities. During the winters, there are snowboarding and skiing facilities nearby.
