Northern Scaggsville The northern part of Scaggsville borders Laurel, MD, and it also backs up to Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Campus. The campus gives this area more of a college-town feel, and it has also created the need for lots of homes here. If you’re going to find a rental in Scaggsville proper, it’s going to be in this part of town.

Southern Scaggsville: The southern part of Scaggsville borders Rocky Gorge Reservoir.

Living in Scaggsville

If you choose to call Scaggsville home, don’t get used to the name. It’s already been changed once (from Hell's Corner), but – not surprisingly – residents hate the name and are working to get it changed again. No matter what the town is called, though, it still provides nice living for families in Maryland. You can take a bus to Washington D.C., Baltimore, and other nearby places. There is also a MARC train in Laurel that runs to downtown Baltimore.

What will you do when you’re actually in Scaggsville – besides sleep? There are great places to eat, including some celebrated pizza places – Lucero’s Pizza and New York J & P Pizza. Pepperjacks Deli is a favorite in town for sandwiches, and Jerry’s Subs and Pizza is many residents’ favorite spot for both. Want to work off all those subs and pizza? Hammond Park is a great place to work out. It’s set on 43 acres, and it has tons of sports facilities, from tennis courts and a baseball diamond to hiking trails.
