Where to Live

Rentals are challenging to find in Stonegate, as there are no apartment complexes or high-rise apartments within its boundaries. Housing options consist of single-family homes, townhomes and condos, with less than 100 rental properties found throughout the community. Start your search as early as possible if you plan to rent an apartment as there are typically fewer than a half-dozen units available at any given time. If purchasing, you'll find the greatest selection of available homes in late spring.

Community Amenities

The Stonegate Homeowner's Association administers guidelines designed to keep the area attractive and property values stable. Their authority ranges from making sure your home, deck and trim are painted in accordance to HOA standards to making sure trash cans are not left on the curb to attract skunks, raccoons and other animals that enter the community through natural areas. Stonegate has its own private water system that delivers H20 to its residents, supplied by 15 wells that access the Denver Aquifer.

Stonegate Neighborhoods

Stonegate covers less than two square miles and is officially considered to be one big neighborhood. Because the community is split in half by Lincoln Avenue, residents often refer to living in either the community's "northside" or "southside."

Stonegate's Northside: The Northside is where you'll find condominiums and townhomes that make up the bulk of the community's rental properties. Single-family homes for rent on the Northside have floor plans that range up to 5,000 square feet. Enjoy green pocket parks along paved pathways just north of Longford and Longstone drives, a large community lake that forms the centerpiece of the neighborhood and one of Stonegate Village's swimming pools. On the far east side of the neighborhood, you'll find a few businesses including a Jack-in-the-Box restaurant where you can grab a quick bite.

Stonegate's Southside: The Stonegate Metropolitan District along Lincoln Avenue houses the majority of Stonegate's business development. Community trails connect to the district, making it easy to visit the supermarket, coffee shops, boutiques and professional buildings on bike or foot. Sip a java at Kunjani World Coffee House, grab a snack at one of several nationally-recognized fast food chains or go for a special evening out at J & J's House of Prime Rib. You'll also find pocket parks as well as Stonegate's community center in this neighborhood.

Living in Stonegate

Hit the Trails

Stonegate's 100 acres of public open spaces are lined with aspen, maple and foliage that makes for picturesque autumn viewing. Paved trails and walkways run through the community, connecting pocket parks, open spaces, residences and businesses. Newlin Gulch Trail cuts through the heart of the community's southern half, intersecting with, Cherry Creek Bike Path that runs beyond the community boundaries. At the far northern end of Southgate, the Centennial Trail joins trails running through outlying communities into the city of Denver. The trails are maintained year-round, allowing you to leave your car in the garage to walk or bike to your destination in all but the worst weather conditions.

Stonegate's community center offers a full range of recreational amenities. Keep cool, get fit and have fun at the Stonegate Village Swimming Pool aquatic complex. Multiple pools offer lap swimming, zero-depth entry, water slides and splash features. The community center also features four lighted tennis courts, picnic gazebos with grills and playgrounds.
