North College Hill, OH Apartment Renter's Guide

The population of North College Hill quadrupled in the 1920s. Since the Roaring Twenties, it has only doubled.

North College Hill is a small suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio with a population of 9,397. It is considered to be the oldest neighborhood in Cincinnati and was first settled in 1814. Even though it's an old place, that doesn't mean it's boring or stuffy! In reality, North College Hill is a thriving place with a vibrant community and tons of exciting developments and awesome suburban amenities.

When you are getting ready to move to North College Hill, there are some considerations that you should factor in to facilitate the apartment search. One of the first is the time of year you're looking for your new home. North College Hill is relatively temperate, with mild winters and tolerably hot summers. This means that you can schedule your search anytime that feels convenient. You won't need a parka or a swimsuit, so the trek should be easy no matter the month.

Townhouse or Apartment?

This question can confuse people who aren't sure about what distinguishes the two from each other. Both are rentals, so shouldn't townhouses and apartments be the same thing? The fact of the matter is that they aren't, and you should take the time to figure out the difference before you go searching for one or the other. Apartments tend to be located in complexes with other units. It is possible for one apartment to be set by itself. However, single apartments tend to be attached to other establishments. For example, you could rent an apartment that is located on top of a commercial space. Townhouses are more spacious and have multiple floors. It is common for townhouses to have at least two bedrooms, and there may be amenities like a garage, parking space or driveway included in the rental. Unlike apartments, townhouses almost always have a washer and dryer located in the unit.

Park Front Property

There are a couple of apartment buildings in North College Hill that are located across from a green space. While green areas are not completely unheard of in Cincinnati, it can be difficult to find an open area that allows you to get some fresh air. Apartments for rent that are located at the front of these buildings get a nice view of the park. However, you should keep in mind that living across from a park will come at a premium. Rents for these apartments tend to be higher, so you'll have to decide whether the benefit of being able to just cross the street to get to the park is worth the added expense to you.

Get Ready To Move In

The problem with conducting a search for properties near a large city is that the rentals tend to be on the market for a very short period of time. People who want to move to the area get ready to go at a moment's notice to ensure that they can get secure the best apartments. If you want to compete for a North College Hill 1 bedroom apartment, you have to be ready to commit right away. The good news is that you'll still get to see the place before you make a decision, but you have to be prepared to apply at the end of the showing. This means that you need to lug all that paperwork with you to your appointment.
