The city is home to the Woody Guthrie Folk Music center, where you can visit the old Harris Drug Store where Woody Guthrie worked and learned to play the guitar. There is also a largely celebrated library in Pampa -- the Lovett Memorial Library, which opened in 1965 and received a recent extensive renovation. The library features a large reading garden, which is a welcome retreat from the fields and ranches in town.
