City Guide for Roxborough Park, CO

"A splendid resort placed in surroundings said to be the most beautiful." Roxborough State Park architect Henry Persse, describing his vision for the area c. 1907.

It's a fair bet that had the pioneers who crossed the Colorado Rockies in the early 1850s first stumbled upon the enticing area of Roxborough Park, California might never have been settled (but don't mention that to a Los Angelan). As it were, it wasn't until the end of the 20th century that hearty pioneers from Denver, Littleton and New York learned of this New World settlement. Today, the small, inclusive community of Roxborough Park and the nearby area of Roxborough Village are considered to be some of Denver's most unusual bedroom communities. The old log homes of yesterday are gone, but the spirit of the West still lives on in the five-bedroom cabins and sedate streets of Roxborough Park. See more

What to keep in mind when looking for dog friendly apartments in Roxborough Park, CO

Finding an apartment in Roxborough Park that accepts your pet may not be easy, but it’s very possible. Keep in mind, most of the time you’ll have to pay a premium for bringing your dog along in your new apartment. Some apartments require you to pay monthly pet rent, others will ask for a non-refundable pet fee or a refundable pet deposit.

While landlords and property management companies have varying pet policies, most of them limit the number of dogs you can bring to your apartment and include breed and weight restrictions.

If your pet falls under some of the restrictions outlined in the pet policy, it’s still worth asking the landlord if they can make an exception for your dog. Preparing a pet resume ahead of time could help you build the case for your furry friend. Make sure to include information on behavioral training your dog went through over the years and proof of vaccinations. If you can, include references from your former landlord and/or neighbors.
