Snowflake is a small town located about three hours northeast of Phoenix and an hour and a half southeast of Flagstaff. Want an even more specific location? This little town is tucked in the White Mountains, just north of the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. And the best part is that the weather is pretty pleasant year around, not scorching hot like Phoenix and its surrounding suburbs. So you can actually take a hike, go fishing, and enjoy the great outdoors most of the year without worrying about melting. That's a big plus for a town in Arizona!

Snowflake Neighborhoods
This town has about 30 square miles worth of land, with a splash of water and a ton of trees. Nope, not the typical Arizona town at all since it's not desert land full of cacti! Of course, as with most small towns, you won't find many distinct neighborhoods here. But you can still get an idea of what each area of Snowflake has to offer.
North Snowflake: This area is mostly residential, with a few businesses mixed in. If you want an apartment in this part of town, your only option is Lyon Crest Apartments, known for its beautiful grounds.
South Snowflake: This is where most of the area's restaurants are, so if you like to eat, look here! It's close to Trapper's Cafe, Subway, Sonic Drive-In and Dairy Queen, among others.
East Snowflake: Want to be as close to New Mexico as possible without leaving Snowflake? Well, some people probably do, in which case this is the right neighborhood! This is also where you'll find Silver Creek and Pioneer Park, so get ready to spend some time outside.
West Snowflake: If you want to be a little closer to Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, Payson and Flagstaff, you'll want to live here. This area also features Snowflake Municipal Golf Course, as well as Snowflake Arizona Temple, which lots of people come to check out since it's a pretty popular landmark.

Lyon Crest isn't the only game in town. There is also Fairway Manor, which is located on the Snowflake Municipal Golf Course. This means you can expect stunning views, quick access to the greens, and of course, the occasional golf ball flying at your head. Hey, most people pay a premium for these kinds of amenities!
Living in Snowflake
Snowflake has a few cute eateries, like Amelia's Garden, Rainbow Brew 7.2 and Enzo's Ristorante Italiano. You can also check out Willis Farm if you like the idea of a corn maze, pumpkin picking and the chance to talk to a friendly staff. But otherwise, the activities in this town are pretty sparse.
Luckily, there are plenty of surrounding areas with lots to do and many ways to get there. Highway 77 runs north and south right through Snowflake. This makes it easy to go south to the nearby, equally tiny town of Taylor, as well as the larger, scenic Show Low. Or you can travel to Flagstaff, which is a college town with tons of places to eat, drink and shop. And if you're up for a little hiking or camping, or even skiing in the winter, stick around Snowflake for a chance to check out the White Mountains.
