Prices remain up 1.2% year-over-year. The median rent in La Porte fell by 0.3% over the course of September, and has now increased by a total of 1.2% over the past 12 months. La Porte’s rent growth over the past year has has outpaced both state (-2.4%) and national (-0.8%) averages.
Nine months into the year, rents in La Porte have risen 1.3%. This is a faster rate of growth compared to what the city was experiencing at this point last year: from January to September 2024 rents had increased 0.0%.
If we expand our view to the wider Houston metro area, the median rent is $1,362 meaning that the median price in La Porte ($1,394) is 2.4% greater than the price across the metro as a whole. Metro-wide annual rent growth stands at -0.9%, below the rate of rent growth within just the city.
