Union City, Tennessee is located pretty close to the Kentucky-Tennessee border. A relatively small town with just close to 11,000 people, Union City feels like the deep south, with a charming town center, vibrant friendly community and slow pace of life. Today, Union City is known for being a nice place to live in northwestern Tennessee. In the past, though, Union City was known for being the location of a small Civil War battle (in March 1864) and of a now-closed Goodyear tire plant. If you want to live somewhere that has a firm grasp on their history but also with a focus on the future, Union City is a great place for you. Central Union City: The central part of Union City is the best place to live if you want to be in the center of the action. This part of town is pretty condensed, so you'll likely see and get to know your neighbors! The center of town is also the location of Kiwanis Park, so it's a good place to be if you like to spend time outside.
Northern Union City: Northern Union City is an upscale part of town, but it's also mostly residential. If you like playing golf, this is a good place for you, since it's the location of the Wingfoot Golf Course.
Living in Union City
Union City is a small town relatively in the middle of nowhere, so if you're looking for a place to commute from, this isn't your town. But, if you're looking for a southern city steeped in history with plenty of amenities and attractions, this might be just the place for you.
If you're a history buff, you'll find plenty to do in Union City. It's the location of the Masquerade Theatre, a new theater headquartered in the historic Capitol Theater in the city's downtown. There are still shows being produced here, after more than a century of productions. Also, Union City is the first place with a grave for an Unknown Soldier, as well as a monument to confederate soldiers from the Civil War.
