Things to Keep in Mind

No public transportation options head directly into Blaterra, although you could take a bus to Dripping Springs and then a cab or rideshare service if needed. While iving in Balterra requires a car to get around, there are still plenty of opportunities to walk and bike in the neighborhood.

The community and rest of Dripping Spring are growing steadily, meaning more drivers on the road. Baltierra's direct neighborhood traffic is generally not an issue; however, commuting via the highways into Balterra or Downtown Austin is congested. Long-term safety improvements and infrastructure planning are in the works to alleviate the tangles and figure out how to manage the influx of growing traffic.

Locals have their choice of year-round activities, but nightlife is not the cornerstone of living in Baltierra and outdoor fun is the go-to option. The core of Dripping Springs and Downtown Austin for more amenities, entertainment, and nightlife options.

Belterra Recreation Center

Locals gather at the Belterra Recreation Center, which includes a resort-style pool, kiddie pool, and lap pool surrounded by trees and rolling lawns. A state-of-the-art gym features high-end fitness equipment and available trainers. Seventeen miles of trails take you along the Hill Country landscape; however, 25% of the community was intentionally left in its natural state and undeveloped.

Enchanted Rock State Natural Area

Residents in Belterra get plenty of options to soak up nature without leaving the neighborhood. Or you can head over to the nearby Enchanted Rock State Natural Area to hike 11-miles of trail and see the iconic 425-foot pink granite batholith. After checking in at park headquarters and signing a climbing release form, you can go rock climbing.

Pedernales Falls State Park

Other outdoor options include the Pedernales Falls State Park with its namesake river spilling over layered limestone. When the water is tranquil, visitors swim and relax after a hike or riding horses. The area also features the Pedernales Falls to refresh and snag an Insta-worthy selfie.
