Searching for Apartments in Redmond

You'll have to get out and hit the pavement since most landlords don't list their vacancies online or in the newspapers. (Do newspapers even still exist?) You can drive around the neighborhoods -- it'll give you a chance to familiarize yourself with the city, too -- or, hire a broker to assist you in your search.

You have a variety of homes and studio apartments to choose from in Redmond. You'll find everything from shiny new loft spaces with artistic touches and stainless steel appliances to the typical white-walled apartment.

Redmond Neighborhoods

Several Redmond neighborhoods are popular with renters. Read on for a brief description of these areas.

Tumalo: A rural neighborhood located just outside the Redmond city limits, vacant homes abound here. (Really, about 1 in 3 homes are empty.)

The Center of Town: The original city limits, this is the closest you'll get to a true downtown area. Here, you can park your car by your apartment (make sure a dedicated parking space is included!), and walk to coffee shops, cafes and boutiques within a few blocks of your abode.

Powell Butte: Because of the modest home prices and the neighborhood's appreciation rates, this is the place if you want to jump on a rent to own home or condo deal.

Dalles California Hwy: A very popular neighborhood.

Living in Redmond

The low cost of living and reasonable rents attract newcomers to the area, but the plethora of outdoor activities in the mountains surrounding the town keeps everyone in town and in a good mood. While most residents do own (and use) a vehicle, public transportation is sufficient enough to make having a car an option, not a necessity.
