Dayton, New Jersey, is a census-designated place, or CDP, located in South Brunswick Township in central New Jersey. The community has a few more than 7,000 residents calling it home, and encompasses just over two square miles. It was originally known as The Cross Roads, and one claim to fame that the CDP has is that George Washington and his troops traveled through on his way to the Battle of Monmouth.
