It only covers 5.77 miles on the map but don't think for a second that it doesn't have a whole lot to offer. The city is located in Eastern Nebraska at the junction of Interstate 80 and Highway 81, so it's extremely convenient to get to! They have an excellent educational system, a vibrant business community and heaps of recreational and cultural opportunities to take advantage of. It's also the hometown of Tom Sieckmann the great golfer and Lloyd A. Jones the head of physics in Kodak. Nebraska itself is a state of the Great Plains, located in the Midwest of the United States of America. The surrounding landscape is beautiful and worth visiting just to check out the scenic plains.

York Neighborhoods
York doesn't really have any neighborhoods. The whole town has a pretty consistent feel and you'll see this after you spend a little time here. However, you can look at the city in terms of a few different sections. Here's a little info about each.
York College/ North Lincoln Ave: This part of York is made up of a good mix of owners and renters and you'll find that it has pretty high vacancy rates and both single-family homes and apartment complexes. It's where the airport is located and also Miller Park.
City Center: This area has plenty of small single-family homes and apartment buildings and has a suburban feel to it. The Chances 'R' Restaurant and Lounge is a great place to grab dinner and a drink. Harrison Park and Beaver Creek Park are both lovely little spots to relax - especially if you live right nearby!
Living in York
Getting to York is a breeze! You can swoop in off either I-80 or I-81 and you'll know you're in the right place once you see the famous hot-air balloon water tower! Many people who live here choose to commute to nearby Lincoln or Grand Island for work because there are a lot more jobs in either city. Some people just like to road trip around Nebraska to take in the beautiful Midwestern countryside! There are over 40 places to eat here, including Kerry's Restaurant, Golden Gate Express and Casa Del Ray! It's close to the beautiful Kirkpatrick Basin North State Wildlife Area, where you can spend the day camping or doing fun outdoorsy stuff like hiking and biking! It also has its very own Municipal Airport! There are quite a few city parks that you can relax in as well - it's basically paradise here! It's equidistant between Grand Island and Lincoln, so if you're interested in more big city action, just hop on I-80 and head to one of these more populated areas. It's a safe and beautiful area that residents love.
