City Center: If you want to be close to the action (or what passes for action in Ellsworth at least), this is where to live. You'll be near a range of shops from the Art Song Gallery to the Friends and Family Market. You'll find mostly apartment complexes and some townhouses in this area. There are a good number of historic buildings.
North Ellsworth: Surrounded by lakes and open spaces, this neighborhood has a rural appeal. You'll share the area with Branch Lake and parts of Green Lake and Graham Lake. You'll mostly find medium-sized and large houses in this area.
Surry: Although not far from the center of town, you'll have to traverse a channel of Graham Lake to get there (don't worry, there's a bridge!). There's a mixture of houses and apartment complexes in this area. You'll find a number of things to do in the area, such as visit the Woodlawn Museum or grab a bite at the Cookie Nook Bakery.
Living in Ellsworth
There's plenty in Ellsworth to keep you busy, no matter your interests. There's no shortage of lakes in Ellsworth, so it's the ideal place if you're into boating or water sports. If you're interested in wildlife, try visiting the Stanwood Homestead Museum and Bird Sanctuary. The museum's a little outdated, but located in a beautiful building. Besides, most people come for the birds and to hike the trails around the museum. If history's your thing, you have to take a trip to the Woodlawn Museum. The main house is known as The Black House and was built in the 1820s in Federal style. The museum's park and formal gardens are also gorgeous places to spend the day.
