Welcome to the Land of 10,000 Lakes! Minnesota has many bodies of water, and Mounds View has quite a few of these mystical lakes within driving distance. A small town in the Twin Cities region, Mounds View is home to over 12,000 people brings just as much magic as St. Paul or Minneapolis in a fraction of the size. Don't believe us? A simple walk down Long Lake Road ought to change your tune.
The world of housing is at your wand's beck and call in Mounds View. You just have to give the real estate genie your wish. Two-bedroom apartments? Here you are. Five-bedroom villas? Coming right up. Mobile homes? As you please.
Types of Housing for Rent
A rental rate of nearly 40% means you'll find that places to rent in Mounds View abound. Generally speaking, every kind of housing is available here, but you'll have the most luck finding detached houses and rentals within apartment complexes, as these account for over 75% of the units here. Whether you want a three-bedroom house or studio for rent, your wishes can be fulfilled.
Things to Consider
A vacancy rate of 7% means it may be a bit more difficult to find a place here than other cities, despite the abundance of housing types. To be certain your magic rental wand works, you should try and give yourself three weeks or more to find a place. Moreover, looking at opportune times like November and early December ensures you have the chance to snag a place just as the previous tenant is moving out (most leases begin and end in January).
If you rent an apartment, you may find that only some utilities are included in the rental cost, so it's always a good idea to be clear on what is and what is not included when viewing a house. If you have magic bargaining skills, you may be able to get an all-bills-paid pad that can save you some cash.
Things to Prepare
Gather the dough for the first month's rent and security deposit as well as applicable realtor and application fees. Landlords in Mounds View will occasionally do a credit check, so be ready to show you are capable of paying the monthly rent on time.
