The nearest international airport is Seattle Tacoma International Airport, in Seattle, which is 95 miles distant from East Wenatchee.Keeping BusyHow do folks who reside in East Wenatchee keep themselves busy? Lincoln Rock State Park just off SR-2, north of East Wenatchee and located on the banks of the Columbia River, only 15 minutes from the city, is a very popular destination for campers. Besides camping, the park offers areas for swimming and boating, hiking, biking and walking trails, as well as plenty of space for activities like soccer. The Daroga State Park just off Highway 97, some 18 miles north of East Wenatchee is, like Lincoln Rock State Park, excellent for camping. There are also picnicking areas and the park is dog-friendly, though you should be kind to your fellow travelers and bring your pooper scooper. For the winos in town, the Martin Scott Winery on 10th Southeast provides the ideal opportunity to surround yourself with beautiful mountainous landscapes whilst getting a fix on the vino. Obviously though, it's not all about high-energy activities, and there are plenty of excellent dining opportunities to be found within the city. El Porton Restaurant at Valley Mall Parkway is an extremely popular Mexican food joint. The food is delicious, the portions are sizable, and the service is fast and friendly. Olive Garden Restaurant, also at Valley Mall Parkway, serves up American Italian cuisine to its patrons. The restaurant is perhaps not ideal for the more intimate dining experience as the atmosphere can frequently become rather exuberant - this may be down to a combination of the excellent food and the gentle but continual flow of Italian wine. Larry's Drive in Restaurant on Rock Island Road serves what is referred to as "fun fast food." It's a very popular eatery so it's well worth checking out. Those who enjoy Thai food should head on over to Valley Mall Parkway (once again) and try Mai Lee Thai Restaurant. This little diamond in the rough may not look like much on the outside, but the food and service that awaits you inside is a real treat.
