Concordia was incorporated in 1872. Though the city has grown since then, it still maintains its small town appeal. It is located in Cloud County, KS and sits in the Smoky Hills region of the Great Plains at an elevation of almost 1,400 ft. After moving to Concordia, you'll quickly pick up on the fact that most residents refer to the town quite affectionately as "Con." Located in North-Central Kansas, the city has a population of 5,395 and claims an area of just under 4.5 square miles. Neighborhoods in Concordia
Concordia is not divided up into neighborhoods, since it's pretty small in its own right. However, it does have a few key areas new residents should consider:
Lincoln Street: The main road in Concordia is US Route 81, also known as Lincoln Street. Most of the attractions in the town are along Lincoln Street, so it's a real hub for fun times if you want to live right in the center of the city.

Living in Concordia
Life in Concordia boasts of some fun things to do. For culture, there's the famous Brown Theater Grand Theater. Originally an opera house, it now hosts a variety of concerts, films and projects. There's also the Cloud County Historical Museum just off of Lincoln Street that focuses on showcasing early life in Kansas. The National Orphan Train is also located in Concordia as well, and was nominated as one of the Eight Wonders of Kansas History. In addition to history, there's some fun shopping to be had in Concordia. Everything from antique stores to clothing shops, fabric stores, and flower galleries, Concordia offers quite a variety for a city of its size.
