Munhall: Single family homes and apartments make up the majority of housing in Munhall, which means it's good for renters and owners. If you are looking for a studio apartment or a hi rise, look to the north end of town along Ravine Street and 8th Avenue. With the Monongahela River to the north, the Munhall Recreation Park Westfield in the center and Westwood Golf Club in the south, Munhall has got you covered when it comes to outdoor fun.

Things to do in Munhall

You know the scary looking houses that you see in a Stephen King novel? The ones that are offset, just sitting by itself in the middle of nowhere? Well, those houses are located in Munhall, Pennsylvania. This area was built up around the 1800s, so many of the historical buildings and libraries resemble these haunted structures. Hopefully they aren't haunted, but there's no confirmation either way...

Munhall actually borders the Monongahela River, so fishing here is a must. There are also plenty of parks along the river front, with the most popular being Riverplex at Sandcastle. Most people boat along the river near Duck Hollow or run along Waterfront Drive, which borders the center section of the river.

Speaking of parks, which Pennsylvania is definitely known for, there are seven located within Munhall. Many of these parks have playground areas for small children, and some have plentiful fields for sports such as football and baseball. These larger parks offer more recreational space and contain grills and covered gazebos for summertime get togethers, reunions and BBQs.

If you're looking for a good shopping opportunity, bordering the north of Munhall are all of the stores you've come to know and love like Macy's, TJ Maxx, Wet Seal, Costco and Vitamin Shoppe. The Waterfront Shopping Center, also known as Pittsburgh Shopping Center, contains a bounty of flagship stores including the famous The Improv Comedy Club. Here, you can get a taste of what it's like to get made fun of live on TV, especially if you sit within the first five rows. If you want to catch a movie, just west of the waterfront is the AMC Loews Waterfront 22.

If you like biking, Munhall is a great place to be. Although there aren't many biking paths within the city itself, there is an enormously long path along the riverside. This biking path stretches from the southernmost tip of the River (which is all the way down in Maryland) to the northernmost tip of the river just spanning past Pittsburgh.

If you really want to get out and about, hop on one of the Port Authority buses that run through the city. The majority of these buses run down Main Street, which will take you to some of the more historical spots in the area.
