Moving to Ocean Pines

Ocean Pines is a private homeowners association, which means anyone looking to begin an apartment search in Ocean Pines must apply for approval from the board of directors. The exact information regarding the application is available on the community's website; however, new residents should be aware that they are responsible for paying additional monthly fees and annual dues that grant them access to use the numerous amenities and pay for services like garbage removal and landscaping. Although these fees may seem costly, it is important to consider that joining a private fitness center, going to a swimming center or participating in youth programs outside of the Ocean Pines community will cost even more money.

Neighborhoods in Ocean Pines

Because it is one large community, there are not individual neighborhoods in Ocean Pines. Instead, residents have the option of choosing between living by the 18-hole golf course, being on the waterfront or opting for a more secluded wooded property. In addition to single-family homes, the community does offer rental condos and rental homes in Ocean Pines. In replacement of neighborhoods, Ocean Pines is split into twenty-six sections. Examples of the sections include:

The Parke Happening: This neighborhood offers a private clubhouse and is close to the Manklin Meadows Shopping Center.

Nantucket: Located right on the water, the Nantucket section within Ocean Pines offers numerous opportunities to find a house rental in the association because many of the homes in this area are second residences.

Tanglewood: This area is closer to all the goods; library, post office, bank and the pool!

Living in Ocean Pines

Even though it is a private residential community, Ocean Pines is like living in your own city because it has shops, restaurants and entertainment options for residents to take advantage of. Within Ocean Pines are a number of excellent eateries including Taylor's Neighborhood Restaurant, which specializes in American cuisine, and Plaza Tapatia for authentic Mexican food. In addition to great dining, the community has extensive recreational facilities that include an award-winning golf course, multiple marinas, a racquetball and tennis complex, five swimming pools and much more.
