Apartment List Is Now in Gemini

October 8, 2026
Apartment List is now in Google Gemini, giving renters a new way to discover a home. Property partners gain access to more renters with the same pay-for-leases model.

The Listing Is the Easy Part

Starting today, Apartment List is available in Google Gemini as a Connected App. Renters can connect it and search live listings right inside the conversation they're already having, with current pricing, availability, and the real monthly cost with fees included. They can also check whether a rent is a good deal, whether it's on a listing they're eyeing or the rent they're paying today.

I'm proud of this launch as the integration came together fast. This speed to launch could only happen by leveraging the Apartment List data, platform, and AI foundations we have been building for years.

AI assistants are becoming a core channel for rental discovery, and getting listings into them is quickly becoming table stakes. Renters are asking things like, "I have an older 70-pound lab who struggles with stairs. Does this building have an elevator and somewhere easy to take him out?" That's a question about someone's life that takes more than a map and a feed to answer well.

The answers renters will trust come from platforms that have learned from what happened after the initial search: which apartments people actually toured, which ones they leased, and whether they stayed. That's the bet we've been making at Apartment List for a long time.

We have 12 million leases with known outcomes, 65 million AI conversations between renters and properties, and the preferences of 67 million renters who told us what they needed before they started looking. Our AI already reaches 76% of the renters who lease through Apartment List, and Gemini puts that intelligence in front of renters at the very start of their search.

What Renters Can Do With Apartment List in Gemini

Once Apartment List is connected, renters can:

  • Search available apartments by location, budget, move-in date, pets, and amenities
  • See the real monthly cost with parking, pet rent, and mandatory fees included
  • Work out what they can afford and see how rents are moving in their market
  • Compare their top options side by side and keep asking follow-up questions

What This Means for Property Partners

For the property owners and managers we work with, Gemini is a new place to reach renters right when they're deciding where to live. Listings already on Apartment List are included automatically, with nothing new to set up. Renters engaged by our AI book tours 62% more often, sign leases 40% more often, and get to a tour three times faster. Our model doesn't change either. Apartment List gets paid when a lease is signed, so property partners pay for leases from Gemini exactly the way they do today.

As more renters start in AI assistants, the value in rental search moves toward whoever can make the assistant's answer better, and that comes from outcome data that builds slowly and can't be bought off the shelf.

Gemini is one of several places we're taking Apartment List. Our goal is to meet renters wherever they search with AI, through integrations with AI assistants and reliable Apartment List information that helps inform AI-generated answers. Across all these surfaces, we don't search, filter, or rank listings based on any characteristic protected under fair housing law, and we don't use proxies for those characteristics either.

Partners with questions about how their listings show up in Gemini can reach to their Apartment List representative or email clientservices@apartmentlist.com. And if you're thinking about how AI changes big-decision marketplaces, I'd like to hear where you think this goes next.
