Debbie Sorkin

Debbie Sorkin leads the creative teams at Apartment List, overseeing Product and Marketing Design, as well as User Research. Debbie has a rich creative history, from dark room photography to a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Michigan, to graduate work at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), and over a decade working for a variety of start-ups in the Bay Area. Debbie is passionate about making people's lives easier, removing unnecessary stress and using technology to automate rote work. Her work at Apartment list is transforming the rental process into a simpler and more delightful experience, which saves renters money and leaves people more energized about moving. Debbie has built the creative teams at Apartment List, hiring and structuring an organization that is responsible for the end-to-end experiences for everyone in the marketplace, including renters, property managers, and internal teams. Prior to Apartment List, Debbie worked for a multitude of tech companies and start-ups in the Bay Area. She found her passion and love for serving a consumer-facing marketplace while working for Urban Sitter. When not at work, Debbie can be spotted with her two children and husband on "the island" (Alameda), typically drinking boba tea or biking to the nearest brewery spot.
