The town used to be known as North Kankakee -- until it was rescued from the Great Depression by David Bradley of Bradley Plow Works. He started "the Bradley Plan" for the city, and the rest, as they say, is history. By 1989 a new shopping center was built called the Bradley Square to commemorate Bradley's achievements for the town. Shortly after that, one of the largest malls in the area, the Northfield Square Mall opened. The town of Bradley was poised for bigger things.
