Bellevue, Wisconsin is a village in Brown County, Wisconsin, with 14,570 residents. It's part of the larger metropolitan area of Green Bay and acts as a bedroom community for folks who work in Green Bay, but don't want to live right downtown. It's one of the fastest growing areas in the county and residents are flocking here to take advantages of the low taxes and beautiful scenery. If you're thinking about renting an apartment in Bellevue, you're in luck! Home rentals make up nearly 30 percent of properties here, so there's a good chance you'll find just the kind of place you're looking for, whether it's a studio apartment or condos for rent.
Moving to Bellevue
If you're planning to look for a house or apartment complex in Bellevue, it's a good idea to do your searching in the summer months. This is when a lot of people transition in and out of jobs or schools so more apartments free up. You'll find a variety of properties in Bellevue so it's good to ask yourself what kind of apartment you're looking for before you start your hunt. Do you like stand-alone homes, townhouses or would you be happy with a high-rise apartment or large apartment complex? Is it important to you to have a yard or outdoor space? How many bedrooms and bathrooms will you need? Do you prefer older buildings or newer models?
Along with these questions, you'll want to consider certain aspects of your neighborhood too. It's okay to ask your landlord a lot of questions about the neighborhood before making your decision. Is it quiet or noisy? Do you have access to nearby shops and restaurants? Is there public transportation nearby? How is the economy and are there any available jobs in the area or does everyone commute into Green Bay? Is there parking on the street or do you need to pay for a parking spot? Is the neighborhood safe? Sometimes asking your prospective neighbors questions can provide some revealing information as well! Plus it's a good way to get to know them and start making friends! Once you've whittled down your list of essentials and learned a bit more about your surroundings, you'll be in good shape to settle on a place.
It's also always a good idea to have your checkbook on hand in the event that you find a place you love and want to sign on it right away. Nothing shows how serious you are about a home like putting money down on it right away!
Neighborhoods of Bellevue
Bellevue is a pretty tiny town by all accounts. You can still find a few different areas to live in, however, and it mostly depends how close you want to be to Green Bay or to Interstate 43, which connects you to Green Bay. Here are your options:
Near I-43: The area just off I-43 is more heavily populated than some of the more remote neighborhoods. It's super easy to hop on and off the roadway and get to the city and back, which is great for commuters and good for people who just want to head into the big city for dinner and a movie! You can find all kinds of apartment buildings here.
East Side: The east side of Bellevue is by far the most peaceful. You'll find a few subdivisions here with single-family homes and a handful of apartment complexes. There are lots of shops and restaurants on Kewaunee Road. It's the furthest part away from Green Bay so it will take a little longer to get here.
City Center: The center of Bellevue is along Main Street and it has some great dining options, like the Plae Bistro or the Main Street Cafe.
Living in Bellevue
Life in Bellevue is pretty relaxing, according to most residents. Not only are the streets peaceful and pretty, but there is also easy access to all the luxuries and necessities you could want, within just a short drive. You have the large chain stores, like Walmart and Target, as well as smaller mom and pop shops located on Main Street. Bay Park Square Mall has all the department stores and clothing shops that anyone could ask for!
The Grapevine Cafe and the A'Brave Bistro are two of the local favorites -- you're bound to run into some of your neighbors if you stop in for a bite to eat here. Bay Park Square also has a movie theater if you like to keep up with the latest flicks. You'll definitely want a car to get around as most people drive in and out of Green Bay for work. It's a "little-big city" of around 100,000 people that is located right on a Bay of Lake Michigan.
The National Railroad Museum and the Neville Science Museum are great spots to while away an afternoon. Many people enjoy traveling to Green Bay to watch the Green Bay Packers play as well!
The weather here can be a bit haywire. Summers are hot and muggy while winters can be long and cold and filled with heaps of snow. Don't despair, however! Spring and fall are beautiful and really highlight the colors and ambience of this part of Wisconsin.
Water lovers will be glad that the area doesn't feel too land-locked either. You can jaunt up to Lake Michigan to take advantage of watersports or just for picnics or long walks by the water when the weather is warmer. There's so much to love about Bellevue, you'll be happy you decided to settle here!
