You hear the name Memphis, and you might think of a place in Tennessee, or you might even think of a place in Egypt. But in reality, you are hearing about a place in Florida -- a tiny little suburban town that's a commuter gateway for the nearby big city of Bradenton. Memphis is home to some lovely residential neighborhoods, and it's built on beautiful waterfront property, so you'll have a lovely place to call home and a scenic view to enjoy, too. People in Memphis are active. When they're not out on the water, they're often walking, playing tennis at nearby Bolletieri tennis academy or IMG Soccer Academy. It makes sense, too, since the weather here is lovely -- nearly always sunny! If you're looking for somewhere bright to live where there's both lots to do and an environment for relaxation, then Memphis is the place for you. Grab your sunscreen, put on your bathing suit, and head down south; you're certain to find property rentals that suit your fancy!
Moving to Memphis
Do you want to find an apartment complex in Memphis? The first part of your search should be identifying what you want in a home. Think about whether size, location, amenities, or community is the most important to you.
Shopping Around
Once you've decided what you really want in a house, you can begin looking for apts for rent via an apartments locator. When you see ones you like, schedule appointments to see them. You can make appointments directly with apartment management companies or with realtors who can show you around.
Applying Yourself
The next step on your hunt for luxury apartments is preparing for your rental application! Once you see an apartment you like, you'll want to apply for it in order to take it off the market, so being ready is the key to snagging the place you want before someone else does. To prepare for your application, gather up your personal financial documents. Some of the things you'll need include bank statements, tax returns, pay stubs, proof of income, proof of employment, and anything else that shows how much money you have or will be bringing in during the time that you're renting. You might also consider bringing letters of reference from former landlords or colleagues and friends. These letters can prove to a potential landlord that you're going to be an awesome renter and neighbor. Another thing to think about before you move is the deposit you're going to need to make. Deposits can be as much as 3 times the monthly rent, so be sure that you're saving up beforehand! If you're worried about qualifying financially, you don't have to stress. Many landlords accept guarantors, or people who can financially guarantee an apartment. This means that should something happen to the apartment, there will be someone legally responsible for paying for it -- and it will make a landlord feel secure about renting to you.
Neighborhoods in Memphis
Another important step when moving to Memphis is thinking about what neighborhood you want to live in. After all, it doesn't make sense to snag a great pad, but then hate the area the home is in! Think about what's important for you in a neighborhood, then do your research about the different areas in town. If you want to know more about neighborhoods in Memphis, check out the info below. It can help you make sure you're considering the right places to call home when you move to town!
Washington Park: Washington Park comprises the southeastern part of town. It's a section with lots of rental places, so if you're looking to rent, not buy, this is the place for you! This part of town is also farther away from the water than a lot of the other neighborhoods, so it's a bit more affordable. You won't have a water view, but you will have only a quick drive to the water!
Memphis: Memphis proper borders the water, and it has lots of lovely waterfront property on Terra Ceia Bay. Enjoy restaurants like Alvarez Mexican or Mr. Tequila in this part of town; there's plenty to do, so you won't get bored!
